Our Story

Established in 1968, the Elizabethton Senior Center stands as a time-honored institution, deeply rooted in our community. From its humble beginnings in a small house on our current property, we have grown and flourished over the years. In 1981, thanks to the support of the City of Elizabethton, we moved into a new building purposefully designed to serve the needs of our beloved seniors in Carter County. Since then, we have remained steadfastly committed to enhancing the lives of our seniors.

Our Mission

The mission of the center is to enrich the quality of life of the seniors in our community by promoting their ambitions, capabilities and creative capacities. Here at the center we pride ourselves in offering opportunity for the nourishment of our seniors' mental, physical, and social well-being. The center serves as a hub to improve access to activities and resource connection.
